Our Dickens lanterns have been specifically designed to replicate the traditional Victorian gas luminaires, so you can imagine our excitement when we were called upon to supply our lanterns for Blists Hill, a Victorian town located in the Madeley area of Telford.

This open-air museum is a very popular tourist attraction to step back in time and experience the sights and sounds of Victorian life. It was imperative the overall aesthetics were a true reflection of the lanterns used in that period, including the light output which replicates the original warmth and glow of a gas luminaire. Our lanterns were supplied complete with a faux mechanical clock and gas pipes, along with the latest in lighting technology – our patented Varoptic® module. Mounted on our heritage columns and decorative brackets, providing a finished product that fits seamlessly with the surrounding architecture.
